Dream of warmer climes by paying the Shedd Aquarium’s bright schools of tropical fish a visit: Getting a mesmerizing look at them and the rest of the aquatic residents in the aquarium’s original galleries is free between January 16–21. Discounts on passes to other Shedd attractions such as the newly renovated Oceanarium and Broadway-style aquatic show Fantasea—featuring belugas, dolphins and sea lions—are offered on these days, too. A number of studios offer free community classes; the problem is finding a gratis session that lets you release your cubicle woes right after work. This week’s freebie, an evening hatha yoga class, comes courtesy of instructor Samantha Allen, who will be leading the downward dogs every Thursday at 6:45pm at Indigo Studio through the end of January. After that, yogis will pay by donation.
