André Leon Talley has already finished filming the fourteenth season of America’s Next Top Model. He replaces J. Alexander on the
judging panel. (Miss J will return to fixing the contestants’ busted runway walks.) Talley signed on for three seasons of the show,
and tells WWD that Vogue editor Anna Wintour had “no hesitation at all” about him appearing on it, even though neither of them
had ever watched an episode. But now, Wintour’s going to start:

“Her reaction,” said Talley, “was, ‘Fine, André. Just let me know when you’re going to do it and how it’s
going.’” (Reached for comment, Wintour said through her spokesman, “André is always onto new things on television, and I
think his latest adventure sounds like a lot of fun and I look forward to watching him on the program.”)

Talley believes the winner is a Vogue-quality model, but could not confirm she would appear in the magazine. “That’s not my
decision, that’s Ms. Wintour’s,” he told WWD.

Tyra Banks tried to get Talley on the show before it even started. They had lunch, discussed Tyra and the reality show she planned to
start, and then probably talked about Tyra some more. Talley said no because he didn’t know if the show would succeed or how it
would turn out.

But after thirteen seasons, Talley believed he could bring something different to the program. And that doesn’t stop at the thirteen
Chado Ralph Rucci graduation robes Talley had custom made, and which ought to be worth tuning in for alone, Tyra’s crazy aside.

“I went to Ralph Rucci when I started this thing,” Talley said. “We came up with these wonderful designs that are based
on 17th-century Edo samurai tunic-coats. And Ralph, who is extraordinarily gifted, understood my desire to have something that would pop
on TV.”

So Talley is finally bringing to this program what it has lacked in the entirety of its thirteen-season history: high fashion. Also,
eyes that not only judge a bulging abdomen or a stumpy neck or thin frog lips or a horribly obnoxious personality, but the clothes
people wear. Even Tyra Banks felt intimidated.

“This is the most clean you will ever see me in the history of ‘Top Model,’” she said. “I am wearing a chignon
every single day. I went back to Yves Saint Laurent 1991, honey. I said, ‘This is André Leon Talley! No earrings, no nothing. Just
me and the gahhment.’”

Talley said he took his role as a reality star “very seriously.” And no such role is complete without a catchphrase. His is
“dreckitude”:

… a melding of dreck, one of his “favorite” words, and “quackitude,” a term he’d heard on Rachel Maddow use on
her show. “‘Dreckitude’ was whipped out when I thought the challenge was not met or if [the contestants] showed up in
perhaps an outfit that I just couldn’t wrap my mind around,” he explained. Such as? “I was constantly repulsed by the
complete popularity of what I call the Cult of the Ugly Shoe – that is, a very clodhopper, high platform-y, clunky-clunk sort of shoe,
which they would favor. And I kept saying to them, ‘You can also be very elegant in a Sabrina flat.’”

Such wise words. But perhaps a little too wise. What are the chances that the America’s Next Top Model contestants know what dreck
means? Or understand the quirky intellect of a late-night cable-television news host? Do they even grasp the meaning of cult? Smize has
gone global. Dreckitude might not even catch on. But this is only Talley’s first season. We can’t expect him to craft made-up
words worthy of their own superheroes just yet.

History has repeated itself once again on Monday night (Feb. 1) as over 75 stars gathered to record a contemporary remake of “We
Are the World” in Hollywood. The world premiere of “We Are the World – 25 for Haiti,” along with the accompanying 3-D
video, will air during NBC’s coverage of the Opening Ceremony of the Vancouver Winter Olympics on Friday, February 12.

The recording session took place in the same Fame studio as the original song written by Richie and Michael Jackson, and featured a
diverse lineup including Lil Wayne (redoing Bob Dylan’s verse), Kanye West, Jennifer Hudson, Trey Songz, Drake, Barbra Streisand,

The son of soul legend Etta James says his mother has been hospitalized amid infection and battles with Alzheimer’s.

Donto James, son of 72-year-old singer Etta James says his mom has been hospitalized for treatment of a serious infection.

It seems James has been diagnosed with MRSA – a bacterial infection that’s resistant to multiple antibiotics.

Making matters worse is that the celebrated singer is now battling Alzheimer’s. Donto revealed that Etta was diagnosed with the
disease a year ago.

He told CNN: “Right now she is very confused.”

Though she is ill, he says she’s “quite combative … fighting, biting – I’m talking way off the chart.”

As strong as she is he still worries about how long she can keep going, however. “I am going to end up losing my mother if it
keeps going on like this,” he said.

Donto James said he’s hoping for more information about his mother’s condition:

“There has to be another doctor out there who can tell me what is going on with my mother. It’s 2010 and we should know
something, should be able to diagnose.”

Donto James said he was talking freely to CNN about his mother’s medical problems because he’s hoping someone can
help him understand what is going on.

OK, so I’m going to say this as mildly as possible in order not to sound like a jackass and have Ms. James threatening to whoop
my ass the way she did with Beyonce only a year ago: She has a diagnosis, no?

I read MRSA and Alzheimer’s. Hopefully this amount of attention can maybe boost Etta’s prayer count, but talking to
CNN won’t help you understand anything unless you’re talking to Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

In any event, we here send well wishes to Ms. James and family.

If you thought Whitney Houston’s comeback was complete, think again. The pop diva will mark 25 years in the business by launching a world tour in support of her latest album I Look to You.

The “Nothing But Love” world tour, her first since 1999’s “My Love Is Your Love” outing, commences on February 6
in Seoul, South Korea, and travels through Japan, “IL_AD2″>Australia, and Europe, currently scheduled to wrap June 10 in Helsinki, Finland.

Houston’s seventh studio album I Look to You topped the charts worldwide when it was released last year and spawned the
singles “Million Dollar Bill” and the title track.

On January 26, Arista Records/Legacy Recordings will issue Whitney Houston: The Deluxe Anniversary Edition. The CD/DVD package
includes a remastered version of her debut album, along with five bonus tracks.

They met, they married, and now Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom have bought a house.

The “Keeping Up With the Kardahians” star and her LA Lakers husband have reportedly purchased a seven-bedroom, nine bathroom home in a Tarzana, CA gated community for nearly $4 million.

As far as their married life goes (they married back in September) a friend says that, “Khloe’s beyond loving married life. She Lamar, she loves her life, she love just being with Lamar, and she can’t wait to move into a huge house.”

And don’t be surprised if Kardashian and Odom start having kids soon- the basketball player recently told Chelsea Handler that he wants to start a family right away.

The Dog DMX went on the warpath Friday night in Colorado Springs, Colorado after he was prevented from going on stage and delivering a performance to his fans. According to reports, DMX was scheduled to perform for American Charities but upon his arrival around 11 p.m., security and police authorities blocked his plans.

Security told X he was scheduled to be there at 9:30 p.m. and that concert attendees had already been told he wasn’t coming. Not too sure about the shows in Colorado but a Hip-Hop headliner making the stage at 11p.m. is considered very early.

X then tried to enter the stage but was accosted by authorities who jumped him to the ground as his fans and entourage joined the melee and the fight ensued. DMX still made it to the stage minus a sound system to let them know he was indeed in the building.

Despite X’s problems from the past, this time he appears to be in the right. While the cancellation of the show still hasn’t been officially announced, reports are circulating that the charity organization gave DMX half his money up front but didn’t have the second half at the time of the show. Rather than renegotiate, they decided to cancel the performance.

T-Pain has never been one to shy away from the limelight, with his appearance at a recent event proving no different.

The auto-tuned crooner and top hat aficionado signaled an end to one of his more “coonish” ideas, laying his infamous “Big Ass Chain” to rest in in an effigial  ceremony.

The Tallahassee hero arrived in a hearse, regaling all in attendance with Jay-Z’s “Death of Autotune”, a song that has recently caused friction between himself and the “Greatest Rapper Alive.”

Shortly after parking, the rapper turned singer unloaded a coffin in which a skeleton rested, wearing nothing but a white tee, jeans, and Pain legendary chain.

Students at Morehouse College are being held to a higher standard. The administration is preparing to enact a dress code later this month. According to the college’s newspaper, the Maroon Tiger, the dress code is formally called the ‘Appropriate Attire Policy.’ The new way of dress is set to enforce the president of the college, Dr. Robert Franklin’s idea of a “Renaissance Man” as presented during one of his speeches.

Included in the policy are 11 new rules including no sagging pants, no headwear and the most amusing request of  all, no women’s clothing. The policy will be distributed online via the school website and in the student handbook. 

As previously reported, a prolific 11-year-old  named Jonathan McCoy worked with campus administration on the dress code and elimination of the use of the n-word on campus.

As a Hampton University graduate where our dress code prohibited sagging pants, du rags, white tees and baseball caps I applaud Morehouse for taking a stand. Dress codes hold students to a higher standard and while their policy is less strict that my Alma Mater’s I think it’s a good idea.

Students at Morehouse College are being held to a higher standard. The administration is preparing to enact a dress code later this month. According to the college’s newspaper, the Maroon Tiger, the dress code is formally called the ‘Appropriate Attire Policy.’ The new way of dress is set to enforce the president of the college, Dr. Robert Franklin’s idea of a “Renaissance Man” as presented during one of his speeches.

Included in the policy are 11 new rules including no sagging pants, no headwear and the most amusing request of  all, no women’s clothing. The policy will be distributed online via the school website and in the student handbook. 

As previously reported, a prolific 11-year-old  named Jonathan McCoy worked with campus administration on the dress code and elimination of the use of the n-word on campus.

As a Hampton University graduate where our dress code prohibited sagging pants, du rags, white tees and baseball caps I applaud Morehouse for taking a stand. Dress codes hold students to a higher standard and while their policy is less strict that my Alma Mater’s I think it’s a good idea.

"Add a few moans and groans and you will pass through undetectable," says the advertising for one of the most controversial inventions to ever hit store shelves.

Religious conservatives in Egypt, livid and much of the Middle East, are livid over a product that allows women another opportunity to be virgins again. At least in theory.

Advertised by Gigmo, the product serves as a cheap alternative to a significantly more expensive alternative in vaginal rejuvenation, a process that has risen to fame with American women.

Originally designed to fool men into believing that their wife was “pure”, the device is inserted into the vagina, emitting amount of blood-like substance when struck.

Among those against the product is Abdul Mouti Bayoumi, a leading Egyptian scholar, whom believes that anyone caught peddling or importing the cheap deception device should be put to death for “spreading vice.”

A Central OhioOhio reviews woman created a panic and mess Tuesday after telling everyone in a store that she just won the lottery and was going to give the money away.

The woman had called to get a limousine to pick her up at her apartment and drive her around, stopping at the Burlington Coat Factory on East Main Street. 

The woman told everyone in the store that she was going to pay for all of their purchases.

People started talking and soon, there were hundreds of people in the store and even more outside, assuming the woman was going to pay for their items.

Officers were called to disperse the crowd.

Police discovered that the incident was a hoax. The woman didn’t win the lottery.

She was arrested and could be charged with inducing panic and possibly fraud.

This is isn’t the first time that Beyoncebeyonce has been put on blast for not actually being a songwriter, but according to an inside source she didn’t write any of the songs on her “I Am…Sasha Fierce” album.  Here is what they had to say.

A lot of these artists claim to be songwriters, but don’t always write a thing. Some, like Beyonce, serve as vocal arrangements, which points to part of the song’s composition, and thus, receive a songwriting and production credit. Others, like Beyonce, can demand credit based on their name alone. I myself have heard of new song writers looking for placement with Beyonce’s last album being told Beyonce demands a certain amount of publishing upfront (and it’s substantial) or they could “be paid handsomely” to politely remove their name from the song altogether. Fact is, Beyonce didn’t write one song on “I Am…Sasha Fierce.” Beyonce and her team have bought the rights from the songwriters and then Beyonce took credit for it. I have no idea about previous albums but it’s obvious that Beyonce never had a pen in her hand, which is a shame because Beyonce claims something she isn’t.

Rush Limbaugh is no stranger to controversy.

Every word uttered by the pugnacious pill-popper ignites a firestorm that even Beelzebub would want no part of.

It is that same polarizing quality that has denied the jolly racially intolerant fat man the distinct privilege of owning an NFL franchise.

Caving to public pressure applied by current players, the NFLPA, and civil rights dunderhead Al Sharpton, Dave Checketts has dropped the Limbaugh from his bidding team, a move that underscores the level of toxicity associated with the shock jock.

Earlier this week, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsey predicted that an association with Limbaugh would hamper anyone seeking team ownership, claiming that it “would be met with significant opposition.”

“I met Rush only once,” said Irsey to media during a fall owners meeting. “I, myself, couldn’t even consider voting for him. When there are comments that have been made that are inappropriate, incendiary and insensitive…our words do damage, and it’s something that we don’t need.”

Of the 32 league owners, three-quarters would have had to vote in favor of the potential buyout in order for Limbaugh to become a team owner.

In Racist Rush’s absence, Checketts  will have to work diligently to find an adequate replacement with enough cash to get back into the bidding run.

Nearly 2 years ago on November 10, 2007, Dr. Donda West, the mother of entertainer Kanye WestKanye West reviews passed away at the age of 58 following cosmetic surgery. The retired professor underwent surgery without a medical clearance, her preexisting coronary artery disease and multiple postoperative factors following surgery are what led to the fatal outcome.

The Donda West law, makes health checks and a written clearance mandatory before being allowed to undergo plastic surgery in the state of California.

"Sometimes patients may think they are well enough for cosmetic surgery, but in reality are not," Assemblywoman Wilmer Amina Carter said. "This bill will potentially save lives."

Carter was contacted by Donda West’s niece, Yolanda Anderson, to propose the bill in February 2008. The bill was approved by the senate, but vetoed by the Governor, due to an overwhelming amount of bills. In an effort to not give up on her aunt, Yolanda was determined to get the law passed.

The Donda West Law Assembly Bill 1116 was re-submitted, February 27, 2009 and as of October 12, 2009, The Donda West Law is now a law. Yolanda Anderson realizes that this will never bring Dr. West back; however the comfort in knowing that she turned Donda’s Tragedy into Triumphed.

Soulja Boy is making headlines again for all the wrong reasons. Just last week he was arrested in Henry County, Georgia for obstruction of justice at a makeshift video shoot. Now the 19-year old is being called out for back pay on property he’s leased. SB is renting out an apartment in L.A. and according to his landlord he’s been skipping out on rent. The property owner has filed paper work against him alleging that he owes over $9,300 in unpaid rent and late fees. A complaint letter filed to Soulja Boy and obtained by TMZ states:

“We have received complaints of noise disturbances and guests wandering the hallway and Observation Deck. This is a direct violation of your Lease Agreement."

The landlord also mentions a time when SB’s partying directly violated his lease agreement saying,

“ Additionally, we were notified that you had over 10 cars parked in guest parking on the evening of September 25th. This is a violation of your lease … which states, ‘You may have no more than two overnight guests at a time unless we provide specific approval."

First jail, now unpaid rent? Get it together Soulja Boy.
