On receiving an invitation from the queen of England:

“When I got the letter asking me to perform, I felt really proud, It’s a proper letter from the Queen’s secretary. I’m keeping it in a memory book. It’s written on this lovely thick notepaper. I keep feeling it.”

A rep for Blige tells TMZ, “The Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation For The Advancement Of Women Now, Inc. (FFAWN) is presently transitioning its management and headquarters.”
The rep also added: “We remain committed to our mandate of helping women gain the confidence and skills necessary to reach their full individual potential.”

It failed to file its federal tax returns for 2010, which were due last November, along with its annual state-charity registration. The charity has now been hit with two lawsuits — one claiming the group musicians at its 2011 fund-raising gala and another saying it defaulted on a $250,000 loan, The Post has learned.
Blige, known as the “queen of hip-hop soul,” touted the charity’s success on the “Today” show in late 2010, saying, “I sent 25 women to college.”
She was promoting her fragrance, My Life, which sold a record 60,000 bottles on the Home Shopping Network during its six-hour debut in 2010. One dollar from each sale was supposed to benefit The Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, known as FFAWN.
“I just want to be one of those women to reach out and show women if I can do it, we all can do it,” said the artist, who has often tapped her own hard-luck story of poverty, sexual abuse and drug and alcohol addiction for inspiration.
Where the $60,000 from the fragrance sale and other donations went is a mystery. The group’s 2010 annual report has nothing on its finances for that year.
And just months after the “Today” appearance, the charity began falling apart. It held a star-studded benefit concert on May 3, 2011, hosted by Queen — an honorary board member of the charity — and featuring appearances by Blige, Jennifer Hudson and Christina Aguilera.

On Her Style Since Having Cree:
It’s so funny you asked me that because Tamera just told me, ‘Your style has really changed.’ My whole thing with being a mom is that you don’t want to lose your identity; you don’t want to lose who you were before. You can still be that hot, sexy mom. If anything, I like to think I’m wearing heels even more. I didn’t wear them that much until the end [of the pregnancy], so I’m now all about wearing heels. I wear a lot of vibrant, flowy, colorful clothes, before it was edgy. I’m a mom now, but when I go out, I don’t forget who I was before.

On Basketball Wives and RHOA:
I haven’t seen “Basketball Wives,” but I heard about it. I am a huge fan of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but I just think that Tamera and I have a different take on these reality shows. I remember when we were pitching our show to different networks, many of them didn’t want to pick it up because they felt like we didn’t have enough conflict. My sister and I were like, ‘We aren’t those type of people,’ so it’s all about us being positive role models. People always say it’s nice to see fresh, vibrant, funny women on television, and that’s my sister and I. That’s how our career has always been and we knew we weren’t going to change who we are for the show business, so it’s kind of something that has been accepted.

Royce Reed of “Basketball Wives” let it all out via her blog recently, calling out Evelyn Lozada after she aired Jennifer’s dirty laundry on the show.
“It’s sad to see the friend code battered and butchered so horribly. So Evelyn, I hope you know that was ‘Ratchet!!!!!,” Royce wrote.

“It shocked me to see Evelyn air so many of Jenn’s secrets. It almost seemed as if she got joy from not only airing it to the other ladies, but to the world,” said Royce. “We didn’t need to know, especially from her former best friends, that her bank accounts were locked, her heat was turned off or who she slept with or without a condom.”

Jennifer has yet to address whether or not any of the allegations were true or false, but she didn’t deny that Evelyn has betrayed her beyond reconciliation.
