11 Teens Rob Armani Exchange, North Face, & Filene’s Basement In Downtown Chicago!!!!

Chicago police say they rounded up 11 teens ranging in age from 14 to 17 who targeted three Mag Mile stores and attempted to make off with more than $5,200 in stolen items.

The five girls and six boys were charged as juveniles after they ran into the AX Armani Exchange, 520 N. Michigan Ave.; The North Face, 875 N. Michigan Ave., and Filene’s Basement at 830 N. Michigan Aven., police said.

The employees of the stores said the large group of teens ran into the stores and grabbed items from the store shelves and ran off with them without pay, police said.

At the Armani Exchange the teens are believed to have stolen $2,247 worth of merchandise; at The North Face they took $2,719.99 worth of items; and at Filene’s Basement they took about $279.99 worth of goods, police said.

They were expected to appear in juvenile court today, police said.

Chinese President Has Arrived In Chicago!

Just after 6:30 p.m. Chicago time, Mayor Richard Daley and his wife Maggie met President Hu Jintao inside a Hilton Chicago ballroom, with business leaders in Chicago and from China joining them.

As news cameras flashed, Daley and Hu sat next to one another in white hotel armchairs, with a bouquet of flowers sitting on a coffee table between them.

Hu, through a translator, congratulated Daley on his 22 years in office, making him “the most senior mayor in America.”

The Chinese president also noted Chicago’s economic progress under Daley, saying “I want to offer my sincere congratulations to you.”

Daley emphasized to Hu the importance of stronger economic and cultural ties between Chicago and China.

“Our relationship can be stronger each day,” the mayor said. “We have a strong commitment to building friendship and economic ties into not only government but the business community.”

While the two spoke, several corporate heads in attendance nodded in agreement. Among them, were James McNerney, CEO of the Boeing Company, which won a $19 billion contract with China to sell 200 of its planes.

Also there were the heads of Caterpillar Inc., Motorola Solutions Inc., and JP Morgan Chase – all of which have business in China.

Chinese President Hu Jintao has arrived in Chicago for a two-day visit.

Mel B Outcast’s UK Family! No Contact For 2 Years!!!!

Mel B hasn’t spoken to her sister in over two years. Mel B lives in Los Angeles with husband Stephen Belafonte and her daughters, Phoenix, 11, and three-year-old Angel from previous relationships – hasn’t been in touch with any of her UK-based family and friends, according to her younger sibling Danielle Brown, who follows her on twitter to see how she is.

Danielle – who has children Mimi, three, and five-month-old Hendrix with fiance George Lee – said: “I’m so sick of pretending everything’s OK. I don’t even know if she’s aware I’ve recently had a baby. Mel hasn’t spoken to any of her family or friends in the UK for over two years. “I don’t have her number, I don’t know where she lives – I wouldn’t know how to get in touch with her. I follow her on twitter to make sure she’s OK.”

Ryhmefest Passes w/ An A – Official Canidate For Chicago’s 20th Ward!!!!

Rhymefest has finally jumped over the hurdles of insults, opponent comments and doubts in order to finally run for an alderman position in Chicago’s 20th Ward.

Born Che Smith, the new political candidate is running in the February election.

Some of his opponents, of course have been attempting to find dirt on his name and ways to tarnish it. Some questioned his residency in Chicago and claimed he was not a competent candidate due to his Hip Hop background.

“After all my opponents have attempted to do in the name of politics like challenging my name on the ballot we continue [to] overcome!” Rhymefest tweeted.

In the midst of it all, the rapper/politician has his share of supporters, including world-renowned scholar Cornel West.

“I am in his corner 155 percent on a scale of 100,” West states. “He has been fundamentally concerned with how to serve the people — you can serve artistically, religiously, politically.”

Chicago Asst. Principal Charged w/Battery Of Student!!!!

An assistant principal of a Chicago high school on the Northwest Side has been charged with misdemeanor battery in connection with an altercation with a student, police said.

Jaime Jaramillo, who works at Steinmetz Academic Centre, 3030 N. Mobile Avenue, turned himself into police Thursday in connection with the Jan. 12 alleged incident after the student filed a complaint, said Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.

Details of the alleged battery were not available. WGN-TV identified the student as a 16-year-old girl and said she accused Jaramillo of dragging and pushing her in a school hallway.

Springfield Illinois Mayor Commits Suicide!!!!

A coroner’s jury has ruled Springfield Mayor Timothy Davlin’s death a suicide.

A Sangamon County inquest today determined the 53-year-old Democrat died of a close-contact bullet wound to the heart in a vehicle parked at his home Dec. 14.

Investigators say they found no note from Davlin. They say there were no signs of foul play and no drugs or alcohol in his body.

Davlin apparently called 911 from a cordless landline phone in his car but hung up.

He died the morning he was to show up at a court hearing to give a financial accounting for an estate he was handling. The IRS also he owed $90,000 in back taxes.

The two-term mayor had recently announced he would not seek re-election.

Butt Naked Black Man – Shot By Rookie Black Cop!!!!

Once again the LAPD is in a pickle over the shooting death of a black man and an LAPD officer.

Two things make this case even more controversial. The dead man, Reginald Doucet Jr., 25 (pictured), was not only unarmed, but he was naked. The officer who fired the fatal shots is black also.

Then incident happened early Friday morning. After a night of partying too hard in Hollywood, Doucet took a cab home, but when he arrived at his tony Playa Vista apartment, he didn’t have any cash. To prove to the cab driver that he would return, he took his clothes off. Unfortunately things only got worse from there. He was locked out of his apartment and reportedly started yelling and acting erratically.

The cab driver called the police, and things escalated from there. A police officer with only 17 months on the force shot Doucet. He died at the hospital.

Drive By On 78th & Clyde Leaves Man Hospitalized!!!!

A 43-year-old man was shot this evening in the South Shore neighborhood, according to police officials.

At 7:02 p.m., the man was exiting his vehicle in the 7800 block of South Clyde Avenue when an attacker pulled up in a white Dodge four-door and fired several shots at him, according to a release from police News Affairs.

The man suffered a graze wound to the abdomen and was listed in good condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the release said.

Earlier at 3:43 p.m. in the Cragin neighborhood, a 21-year-old man was walking in the 2400 block of North Lorel Avenue when a grey minivan approached him, the release said. Three assailants began yelling at the man and as he walked away, a passenger pulled out a handgun and fired at him.

The man was struck once in the left forearm and once in the leg. He was listed in good condition at Our Lady of Ressurection Hospital.

No one was in custody for either attack and area detectives are investigating.
