Oh My: llinois State Represenative Deborah Mell To Marry Same Sex Partner In Iowa!

Chicago – State Rep. Deborah Mell, sister of Patti Blagojevich and daughter of Ald. Dick Mell (33rd), announced on Chicago Tonight Tuesday that she is engaged to her partner of five and a half years, Christin Baker, national director of arts and humanities for YMCA USA.

Mell said she would announce it on the floor of the State House Wednesday afternoon in order to call attention to the issue of gay marriage in Illinois.

Luther High School North found the miracle it was looking for.

The 100-year-old parochial school, which had announced its intention to close its doors for good June 5, will stay open for the 2010-11 academic year, the school announced on its Web site.
