Report of boat in distress unfounded

A report that a person saw a distress signal in lake off of Bryn Mawr Avenue tonight sent the ChicagoChicago reviews
Police Marine Unit searching the area, but no trouble was found.
The person said they saw what appeared to be a distress flare or signal light about 9 p.m., so as a precaution the Marine Unit sent a boat to search the area, said Officer John Mirabelli of Police News Affairs.
But the officers did not find anyone in the lake at that location so they were able to end the search in less than an hour, he said.
