Charges pending after South Side crash kills 2
Charges are pending against the driver of a car that ran a red light on a South SideSouth Side reviews
street on Saturday, causing a chain-reaction crash that left an 87-year-old woman in his own car and the driver of another car both dead, police said.
The crash happened about 5:10 p.m. at 75th and State Streets, police said. A Ford sedan was making a turn from 75th to the northbound lanes of State when a Chevy Malibu headed north on State ran a red light and slammed into the Ford, said ChicagoChicago reviews

The Ford struck an Infiniti stopped nearby as the Malibu lost control and hit another Chevy, Chaplin said.
The driver of the Ford, Christopher Chatman, 27, of the 5900 block of South Throop Street, was pronounced dead a few hours later at a nearby hospital. Ardella Wells, 87, a passenger in the Malibu, also died of injuries suffered in the crash.
The driver of the Malibu was taken to a hospital, but was not seriously injured. Police say he was at fault in the crash.
The occupants of the other two vehicles declined treatment, police said. Chaplin declined to say what charges were pending against the man driving the Malibu.
