Beck gets the call
Deputy Chief Charlie Beck, a 33-year Los Angeles Police Department veteran with “LAPD blue” in his blood, was picked by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa Tuesday to head the department – ending weeks of speculation about who would fill the big shoes left by William Bratton.
